Grant Malay was born in Portsmouth, Southern England in February 1971. He started working life training in electronics and microprocessors but after graduating found most jobs at the time were heavily involved in military contracts which went totally against his moral standards. Hence a change in career direction led to software engineering in the air conditioning market. After a change in his personal life he then went on to be an electrician along with his brother but in 2016 a new change came when he was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia leaving him unable to work.

Several attempts at new projects ended in failure due to fatigue and pain. Finally inspired by James Tepsey, a good friend of the family, he was inspired to rekindle his story telling in the form of book writing. As a child he used to make up stories about a land occupied by biscuit characters, as well as a character called Super Spud with a side kick called Willy the worm. Even to this date, in his parents home, in his old room behind the wallpaper still resides a picture of Super Spud. More than 40 years later the stories have finally made print.
